How NWSL expansion teams Atlanta and Columbus can build their rosters ahead of 2028 debuts
The NWSL has outlined how its two newest expansion teams, Atlanta City FC and Columbus NWSL, will be able to build their rosters ahead of their inaugural seasons in 2028. The league announced Friday the player acquisition mechanisms available to both clubs, giving them the opportunity to begin assembling their squads in 2027, a year before they enter NWSL competition.
